To ensure the longevity of your handcrafted pieces, we recommend the following:
1. Limit the exposure of your precious gemstone jewelry to salt water or harsh chemicals such as chlorine or detergents. These chemicals may slowly erode the finish and polish of your gemstones. Even hair spray, hand sanitizer, moisturizer, perfume or perspiration may cause jewelry to become dull. We suggest allowing your sanitizer or moisturizer to dry completely before wearing your piece. For Vermeil pieces, we recommend avoiding contact with liquids as much as possible.
2. Make sure to wipe your gemstones after wear to remove any chemicals, oils or perspiration. For smaller pieces, you may want to use a Q-tip.
3. Do not wear your gems while doing household chores or any other activities where your jewelry could be hit. Please also do not wear for heavy lifting or the gym. These are delicate handmade pieces, and should be treated as such. Emeralds, for example, are brittle and could be damaged during everyday wear.
4. The easiest way to clean your jewelry is to soak it overnight in warm and mild soapy water. In the morning, you can simply brush the back and sides with a soapy toothbrush. Please use a cotton towel or microfiber cloth to dry your jewelry as paper can be abrasive.
